Heather Zachau

Heather Zachau was introduced to yoga at an early age by her mother, Ann, an Iyengar enthusiast in the 70’s. She rediscovered yoga in 2010, which changed her yoga life. She now knows that if she had had more yoga in her active life, she would have better understood the human body and possibly avoided injury. She wants to take that knowledge she has learned personally to all of her students to ensure they understand the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. She completed her 200-hour yoga certification at Boston Yoga School in 2016. Since then, she has finished her 95-hour RCYT training from Childlight Yoga, including certifications for babies & toddlers, tweens, teens, athletes, chair yoga, and trauma-informed yoga. She also completed her 500-hour training with the Yin Yoga School in 2020 and achieved certification in 2021 with Robin Ivy in Restorative Yoga. She followed up in 2022 with her Aerial Yoga Teacher training with Lily Dougher Hagerman and Robin Ivy. She also took her Level 1 Sound Practitioner training with Kimber Lucier in 2022. She continues exploring sound's power and benefits in yoga and sound bath practices. She is currently working on completing her Level 2 sound training and advancing her teaching with Yoga for Athletes with Sage Rountree. Recently, she completed her Level 1 & 2 Reiki certification with Kristine Keegan. Currently, she teaches yin and aerial yoga, breathing techniques, and mindfulness to the sports teams in local high schools and the private and public sectors. As a full-time elementary school teacher, Heather worked with school-age students, helping them utilize strength, flexibility, coordination, breathing techniques, and body awareness through yoga and mindful meditation. Heather continues to be an avid biker, hiker, skier, traveler, and outdoor enthusiast! She and her husband recently bought a farm in Pownal, so farming is the next big adventure!!
