Saluting the Sun
A Breakdown and Rebuilding of Surya Namaskar

Chances are if you've been to a Vinyasa class, you've completed at least a few rounds of the sun salutation, one of the foundational elements of the yoga practice. In this two hour workshop, Abby will break down the fundamental poses- mountain, forward fold, low plank, cobra/upward facing dog, and downward dog. After examining these postures one by one, we then work to establish the continual link of breath and movement. Appropriate for beginners and seasoned yogis alike. Modifications, support of props, and instruction through more advanced transitions, like jumping forward and back on your mat, will also be discussed.
