Restorative Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that helps restore balance to the whole person. Restorative yoga postures incorporate props to fully support the physical body and promote relaxation. Supported postures, guided breath and meditations calm the central nervous system and the mind. With practice, restorative yoga can change habitual mind and body patterns, facilitate emotional or physical relief, and increase self awareness and mindfulness.
Explore postures, sequencing, breathing exercises, and other considerations for offering Restorative Yoga. Understand the koshas and how restorative yoga addresses these layers of the self. Other topics include studio environment, teacher voice, yoga nidra, guided meditations, and adapting restorative yoga for all bodies and individuals. We will cover both basic and active restorative philosophies and practice. This training prepares yoga teachers with RYT 200, RYT 500 or E-RYT certification to confidently design and lead restorative classes or private session and to incorporate restorative practices in any class you teach. No prior knowledge of Restorative Yoga is required, yet experienced teachers are welcome.
